What do I think of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro?
If you are looking for a new phone that is the same spec as the Galaxy Note 8 or the iPhone X, then this is the phone for you. The Huawei 10 Pro is a smartphone/tablet
because of its size. It is one of the larger phones that we have currently on our site and is also one of the cheapest in our range.
The Pro offers fantastic hardware with highlights that include a mobile HDR-ready OLED screen, an excellent CPU, a lot more memory and great battery life.
How does it look?
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has a very similar design to the Mate 10. Personally I don’t think that is a bad thing as the Mate 10 is a very good looking smartphone. It is designed with a mix of a metal and glass casing just like the most popular iPhone’s and the Galaxy Note 8. The Mate 10 Pro has a curved back joined together by two metal sides, making the Mate 10 Pro one of the best looking phones on the market. The Mate 10 Pro also has a 6” screen which doesn’t feel too overpowering to hold.
Despite having a glass back it seems to be quite resistant to scratches on the back, which you would find on a cheaper model of phone. It is also water-resistant making it quite a durable phone but I wouldn’t recommend dropping it into the water anytime soon.
What is the display like?
Even though the design is similar to the previous Mate 10, the screen is completely different. The display on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is an OLED screen and not an LCD screen. The Pro has a 6” HD+ HDR 10 OLED display. If you don’t know what any of this means, Huawei have basically made one of the best screens that you can buy on the market. The only thing I can say bad about this screen is that it has a lack of high-dynamic-range, but other than that it is a top range screen.
What software does it have?
Unlike other mobile phone companies, Huawei have found it quite difficult when it come to upgrading their mobile software. However the Huawei Mate 10 Pro has managed to have Googles Android 8 Oreo software. But because they have wrapped with their own software it causes a few problems. You will find that you will get duplicates of apps especially music and messaging apps.
How does it perform?
Huawei has gave the Mate 10 Pro its eight-core CPU, which comes with it specially made Neural processing unit. This gives you a number of performance optimising features. This monitors and learns your phones usage pattern to launch or tweak applications to satisfy your needs. This feature at first didn’t feel like it was doing anything, but after using the phone for a while now it is very useful. The phone also has 6GB of RAM which has taken everything that I have used it for very easily.
