iPhone 5s: Should you buy one?

When Apple first released this iPhone we were first introduced to Apples Touch ID home button and a 64-bit processor. It was first released in 2013 and was the most expensive smartphone that was on the market at the time. Now you are able to get this second hand phone for a much cheaper price as it is been 7 years since it was first released. Still, these phones are still loved and are still usable today but should you get one? In today’s blog, I am going to go through why you should consider the iPhone 5s.

What is the display like?

On the iPhone 5s, you will find the same Retina display that you will find in the iPhone 5 and in the iPhone 5C. This screen is a 4inchs” with a resolution of 1136 x 640 making the screen still sharp at 326ppi. This is probably one of the smallest screens that you will find on the second hand phone. There are better quality screens on the market but not for the same price as the iPhone 5s. Even though the screen is small you are still able to use this phone with one hand, unlike the other big phones that are on the market.

How does the phone look?

This iPhone had a similar design to the iPhone 5 and very different to the iPhone 6 which has the curved edges with the thinner body. The chassis of the phone is made out of aluminium-and-glass, but the glass is quite vulnerable to cracks and chips. This can easily be avoided if you use a case for this phone. The size of the phone is also a great design because it fits perfectly in your hand which is rare to find in any second hand phone.

What is the chipset capabilities?

Within this iPhone, you will be able to find not one, but two chipsets. Having these two chipsets gives it a massive power boost compared to the previous iPhone 5. It was also the first time that a 64-bit computing chip was used inside an iPhone. This was a massive move by Apple and showed that it was worth it. This choose has helped this phone still function really well by still being able to do what most other phones can do.

The other chipset that is in this phone it the M7 chipset. This chipset allows the phone to track the motion of the phone, through the accelerometer, gyro meter and compass while the other chip isn’t working. This basically means that the phone knows when you are in the car or jogging. The chipset then takes this information and stores it without draining your battery which is a fancy thing to have for such a cheap second hand phone.

How good is the rear camera?

When it comes to iPhone cameras you should expect that they are top range. With this camera, you are able to see that Apple has done exactly that with this iPhone. What you seem to get with this phone is that it has a higher aperture making the cameras have a better night time performance and in normal light situations it does extremely better for a second hand phone.
