Why should you get the P20 Lite
The Huawei P20 Lite was the cheaper option from the original Huawei P20. Huawei wanted a phone that was able to perform the same functions as the P20 but by not having to pay for the price that the original P20 was going for.
Doing this the company replaced the powerful processor for a cheaper chipset. This required that the phone had to adapt to subtle design and a slightly different setup for the dual-camera setup.
How good is the design?
This phone has been mainly made from glass. With many phones that I have tested, I have found that these types of phones will get constantly dirty from your fingerprints. If you don’t like your phone getting fingerprints all over your phone I would recommend buying a Phone case.
On the back of the phone, you will find the fingerprint scanner. Like all phones that have the fingerprint scanner near the cameras, I just wish that it was moved further down so it is more easily accessible. Other than that I am really impressed with how quick the finger scanner actually is. I also like this because I think it is more secure than using your password into your phone.
How does it perform?
Like I have said at the start of this review, I do have to say that I am not disappointed with how good the processing chip is on this phone. The phone comes standard with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM which we found surprising as this is a decent amount of both for the price tag of the phone. It has a Kirin 659 processor which is found in the Honor 9 Lite which is usually found in mid-range smartphones. This makes this hone a great phone to watch videos and play games.
How do the cameras perform?
The Huawei P20 Lite has a dual-camera setup with an impressive 16MP sensor, with an aperture of f/2.2 and another 2MP with an aperture of f/2.4. In well-lit situations, the camera performs really well but when you zoom into the image starts to lose quality. This also happens when the camera is in low lit situations.
The phones does have a facial recognition feature which is also able to unlock your phone just as fast as the finger scanner. This is only usually found on more expensive phones.
What is the battery life like?
When we are dealing with battery life on this phone, you will find that on this phone it is really impressive. The phone has a 3000mAh battery and will charge from zero per cent to one hundred in about two hours time. For a phone that was made in 2018 that is really good for the price, you pay for this phone. You will able to use this phone for one full day depending on the amount of screen time you have. You shouldn’t have any issues if you remember to charge your phone before you go to bed.
