Our Quality Standard
Every phone sold by Used Mobiles 4U must meet our quality standards before it is listed for sale. This includes battery health checks, full functionality testing, professional data wiping, and cosmetic grading — all backed by our warranty and returns policy.
Buying a refurbished or used phone should never feel like a gamble. At Used Mobiles 4U, every device is individually tested, cleaned, graded, and prepared for resale in the UK, with clear aftercare support if you ever need it.
This page explains exactly how we refurbish phones, how we verify battery health and functionality, and the standards we use before any device is listed for sale.
What “Refurbished” Means at Used Mobiles 4U
A used, approved phone is simply a pre-owned device that has been refurbished for resale after passing defined quality checks. Each phone is professionally inspected and prepared to meet our standards.
Every device is individually tested for hardware and software functionality, ensuring reliable performance. Battery health is verified against minimum standards, and devices are graded for cosmetic condition (appearance).
All phones are securely wiped and factory reset before resale. We also provide clear aftercare, including warranty and returns support within the UK.

Battery Health Standards
Battery condition is one of the biggest differences between a great phone and a disappointing one. That’s why battery health is carefully checked as part of our refurbishment process.
Minimum Standard: We only list devices with 85% or higher battery health (as stated on-site).
If a device does not meet our standard, it is repaired, re-batteried, or removed from sale. Battery standards apply regardless of cosmetic grade.
When choosing between models, battery health is one reason many buyers prefer purchasing from a professional refurbisher rather than private sellers.
Cosmetic Grading
We grade phones based on their cosmetic condition (appearance). All devices are fully tested for functionality, regardless of grade.
For a full breakdown of what each grade means, see: Grades Explained (A / B / C).
Every refurbished iPhone is thoroughly tested and prepared for resale.
What We Don’t Sell
To protect our customers, we do not list devices that do not meet our clear quality standards, including:
Phones that fail diagnostics or have unresolved faults
Devices that cannot be securely wiped and factory reset
Phones that do not meet our battery health standards
Devices that do not match their listed condition or grade after inspection
